Boxing is a punishing sport, not just for the blows that the athletes suffer in the ring, but for the way in which it preys on young men with raw talent but few options, tempts them with fame and money and then discards them like carcasses when they cease to draw crowds — and profits. 


That brutal industry is the focus of Champs, a new documentary by Bert Marcus, centering on three legends — Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield and Bernard Hopkins — who got their start in the most dire of circumstances, achieved the status of legends and then crashed hard.
