Empire Sued for Stealing the Life Story of Former Gangster
Everybody wants a piece of Empire's success; and a guy named Ron Newt is willing to sue for it. Known as the "Gangsta Pimp," Newt claims he met the show's star Terrence Howard at the Four Seasons Hotel some time ago and they discussed his documentary Bigger Than Big, about his life as a "ghetto player."
Newt claims Howard really connected with the story and indicated an interest in playing him on screen. A year later, Empire hit the airwaves and Newt says the show stole his life story.
According to TMZ, Newt points to a number of similarities between his documentary and Empire, including dead drug dealers and a Cookie Lyon-like character named China Doll.
Newt, who claims to have been friends with Michael Jackson and that he once had a record deal with Death Row, wants a billion dollars from Lee Daniels, Howard and Fox.
