In a time when the debate over race, law enforcement and the treatment of Black men looms large in the national consciousness, the film Brotherly Love is unexpectedly relevant. The Queen Latifah-produced drama about the intersecting lives of Philadelphia residents each navigating their own personal drama touches on these topics and many more.
We sat down with three of the film's stars, Cory Hardrict, Eric D. Hll Jr. and Quincy Brown, to talk about the film and also their perspective on the rash of deaths of young Black men at the hands of law enforcement. Hardrict had the most to say on the subject, claiming that Black men "don't have room for confrontation" with cops.
