Ne-Yo is joining Empire... as a producer. If you were a fan of the soundtrack for season one of the FOX hit, get ready for more great music as the "She Knows" crooner is confirmed to join Timbaland to produce the music for the next season, reports Deadline.

The singer made the announcement on Instagram, posting a picture with the words "It's true... Season 2... NeYo Joins Empire. From the horses [sic] mouth.... See ya season 2. #EMPIRE #NONFICTION2015," he captioned the photo.

In other Empire news, the second season has been extended to 18 episodes — six more than the 12 ordered for the first season. Don't expect your Cookie fix all at once though. The show will be split into two parts with nine episodes airing in the fall — with a cliffhanger — and the remaining nine airing in the spring.
