Jesse Williams has become known for being one of today's most vocal social justice activists and in the wake of the recent case of Sandra Bland's death, the actor decided to speak up. In a 24-tweet series, the Grey's Anatomy star called out the privilege that a "select segment of Americans" are given when interacting with police and why it is less than likely that they identify with minorities.
The former public high school teacher then criticized the Tea Party and the overarching justice system for their unfair practices, tweeting that, "An entire political party [re]constructed loudly claiming to RESIST 'gov't tyranny' while actively CELEBRATING [certain] gov't tyranny!"
He continued, pointing out that police, though they are there to protect and serve, they are "not THE law."
He ended his brilliant rant by acknowledging the unfair conclusions that are being made in the case of Bland's death and giving some advice to those who may find themselves in similar situations in the future.
