Caitlyn Jenner continues to make her debutate-ish rounds.
The premiere of her ground-breaking docuseries, I Am Cait aired on E! Sunday, nearly two months after the world got the first look her on the cover of Vanity Fair. The entire family was there to welcome her, including her son-in-law Kanye West.
"Kanye and I have never been close," she said, "but I love his open mindedness and how he's helped Kim come to terms with all of this."
Caitlyn first mentioned how supportive Yeezy's been when she was still Bruc in a sit down with Diane Sawyer. He told Kim, “Look, I can be married to the most beautiful woman in the world, and I am. I can have the most beautiful little daughter in the world. I have that. But I’m nothing, if I can’t be me. If I can’t be true to myself, they don’t mean anything.”
'Ye's appearance on I Am Cait was brief (most of his reality show moments are), but long enough to explain to Caitlyn's mom Esther Jenner why he doesn't keep his shoelaces tied up, and to tell Caitlyn herself, that what she's done, "It's one of the strongest things that's happened. You couldn't have been up against more," he said, "Your daughter's a supermodel. It was like f**k everybody, this is who I am."
The Keeping Up With the Kardashians spin-off explores serious issues for which Caitlyn's transition represents. She spoke in-depth with Esther about the idea of losing a son, but gaining a daughter, and the risk of suicide among transgender youth. "We have to do something about that," Caitlyn said.
