Instagram's Gay Dads Call It Quits

The two were a viral sensation after posting pics with their kids.

Remember the adorable family led by two gay fathers that went viral months ago? Well, unfortunately, the couple called it quits. Caleb Anthony and Kordale Lewis ended their engagement and it does not seem to have ended well.

In a lengthy Instagram message, Anthony explained that "disrespect" of some form led to the demise of their long-standing relationship. "I cannot sit here and act like I was not part of the demise of 'KordalenKaleb,' but at no point do I or anyone else deserve to be disrespected the way I was and to continue it on while we're together as a family on vacation," he said.

While, based on his explanation, unfaithfulness seems to have led to their split, Anthony says that his relationship with their three children — Desmiray, Malia and Kordale Jr. — will never change. "My love for them will always prevail even if 'Daddy' and I are no longer together," he said. "Truthfully, they are the ONLY reason I am sad to leave and move on."

He continued that he promises to be involved in the toddlers' lives as their "Pop" in "this screwed up situation that has recently transpired between their dad and me."

The Atlanta-based couple quickly rose to fame on the Internet 18 months ago, becoming collectively known as "Kordale and Kaleb." The photo of them doing their daughters' hair went viral within days, sparking conversations about same-sex parenting. Lewis went on to write a book titled Picture Perfect based on his life with his partner, Anthony, and the back story of the image that made them known. Their journey was captured by Nikon, which added the family to its "I Am Generation" ad campaign earlier this year.

Nikon recently released a statement to Page Six after learning of the couple's split. "We are aware of the news and wish the best to Kordale, Kaleb and the entire family," it reads. "We were happy to have them participate in our campaign and there were no plans to extend marketing efforts with any of the featured participants."
