Jennifer Hudson is gearing up for her Broadway debut in The Color Purple, and the Oscar winner certainly seems ready. Hudson shows off her world-famous pipes in a new video featuring her singing the production's theme song along with co-star Cynthia Erivo.

The musical, which is produced by Oprah Winfrey, takes a minimalist approach to its production, with a stripped down set that puts the spotlight squarely on the acting and music. The show begins previews on November 10 and then opens officially a month later. 

"[It's] a timeless piece of American culture," Hudson recently told People about the show. "The story holds a special place in my heart because, in part, it's so honest. All of the characters are true to who they are. Each individual is an integral part of the message and it brings a complex emotion that sticks with the audience."
