Man Accused of Killing Morgan Freeman's Step-Granddaughter Pleads Not Guilty

Lamar Davenport allegedly murdered E'Dena Hines exorcism-style in August.

Lamar Davenport, the man accused of killing Morgan Freeman's step-granddaughter E'Dena Hines, has pleaded not guilty to her murder.
Hines, 33, was stabbed to death on August 16. Neighbors reported seeing Davenport, who was her boyfriend, outside of her apartment shortly before the gruesome murder, and eyewitnesses claimed she was killed in the manner of an exorcism. Davenport reportedly ranted to police about Jesus Christ and the devil after his arrest.
"I don't even know why I'm here right now," Davenport allegedly told officers.
In court on Tuesday, an attorney representing Davenport told a judge that her client was scheduled to undergo a psychiatric evaluation on Thursday morning.
After the murder, Freeman shared his grief on Facebook. "The world will never know her artistry and talent," he said in a statement, "and how much she had to offer."
