Queen of Talk: Wendy Williams Will Be on Your Screens for a While
The signature tagline for Wendy Williams's popular daytime talk show is "How you doin'?" and if the latest news of the show's future is anything to go by, she's pretty fantastic. According to Deadline, Lionsgate TV has just extended the talk show maven's contract by seven years to 2022.
This news is great for Williams, but don't confuse this for the talk show's renewal. While The Wendy Williams Show, owned by Lionsgate, is scheduled to run through the 2016-17 television season, the show itself has not yet been renewed. However, judging by the "personal services" contract entered between Lionsgate and Williams, it's a pretty safe bet to say that the show will continue for the next seven years.
Williams, who has her hands deep in the business side of the talk show's progression, also has another business venture with Discovery — a show called Death by Gossip With Wendy Williams, which she both executive produces and hosts.
