Yusaf Mack Loves Transgender Women and 'Nobody With Muscle'
Yusaf Mack, the Philadelphia boxer and father of ten who recently came out as gay, isn't taking baby steps into discussing his sexuality. He reportedly had a "coming out" party in Los Angeles earlier this month and, in an interview with HipHollywood, he said that he is attracted to transgender women — though he very clearly needs a lesson in appropriate LGBT terminology.
“My interest is trannies. I love trannies. I’m attracted to trannies. I don’t like nobody [with] muscle like me,” he said. Mack also credits Caitlyn Jenner for inspiring him to be himself and embrace his sexuality.
“When I seen Bruce Jenner did it, I said, ‘If he can do it, I can do it,'" explained Mack. "I don’t have to hide anymore. He’s an Olympic four-time gold medalist, and I had several titles in boxing. If he can do it, it’s inspiring to me. I can do it.”
The boxer says his former fiancée has been very supportive throughout his new journey, though his ten children (yep, ten!) are having a more difficult time accepting it. It's great that Mack is feeling increasingly comfortable in his own truth, but can someone please sit him down with GLAAD, ASAP?
If Mack cares to know more about the transgender folks he seems to admire so much, Miss Janet Mock has a few things to share with him below:
