Who's that at Laverne Cox's side? The Orange Is the New Black star caused a stir at the SAG Awards over the weekend by showing off her boyfriend, Jono Freedrix — and we have to say, nice work, girl!
According to Us Weekly, Freedrix is a Vancouver-based filmmaker and president of the Virtual Stage, a film and theater company. He used to teach high school and "loves orangutans." He and Cox reportedly met through her OINTB co-stars Joel Marsh Garland and Pat Squire, who appeared in his “twisted comedy" about public breastfeeding, entitled Sucklepump.
And even though we're just learning about this now, Laverne and Jono have been together for a minute. He was even her date at the 2014 Emmys! We're not sure how this one got past our radar, but kudos to them for keeping it low key for so long.
