MTV UK is on the ropes with Black Twitter after posting a tone deaf message to social media informing everyone that "A-listers" like Kim Kardashian are responsible for making cornrows a hot new trend "right now."
There's already plenty wrong with that, but then they took it one step further by referring to the 'do as "boxer braids" rather than the style Black folks have been rocking for decades.
Though MTV UK deleted the tweet almost immediately, Black Twitter is still mad:

Sadly, cultural appropriation is nothing new and MTV UK isn't the first person, company or media outlet to give a white celebrity credit for something steeped in Black history. What's next, Yaki ponies? Oh, wait...
