Time to take a deep dive into one of hip hop's greatest unsolved mysteries.

Digital news media company Go To Ground has released the first episode of their documentary web series Unjust Justice — The Jimmy Rosemond Tapes, investigating the story of one of hip hop’s most enigmatic executives, James “Jimmy Henchman” Rosemond, who is currently serving a life sentence in prison.

Rosemond’s reputation in the hip-hop world was damaged by his alleged involvement with the 1994 shooting of Tupac Shakur when the rapper was at Quad Studios in New York City. Rosemond resurrected his career, however, and went on to manage stars like Game, Sean Kingston, Brandy, Gucci Mane and Akon

Everything changed in 2012, when Rosemond was convicted on drug trafficking and murder charges. Unjust Justice — The Jimmy Rosemond Tapes aims to shed light on a case riddled with inconsistent information offered by career criminals, federal informants and a Los Angeles Times journalist who provided false and damaging information to government officials.

The web series will also delve into the mystery of Tupac's death, the business of hip hop business and Rosemond’s conviction in both a drug conspiracy case, and the case of a murder-for-hire of an ex-convict who assaulted Rosemond’s then 14-year-old son. The filmmakers will review trial documents, wiretaps, and other related materials to discover whether or not justice was truly served.

The first episode, titled “Tupac, Quad Studios, and the Myth of Jimmy Henchman,” delves into the widely publicized shooting of Tupac Shakur at Quad Studios in New York City through never-before-heard taped conversations from 1995 with Rosemond, Notorious B.I.G. and Randy “Stretch” Walker, who was entering the studio with Tupac that fateful night.
