Diddy's Latest Business Venture Will Surprise You

The hip hop mogul is taking on a whole new game.

Diddy has conquered the worlds of music, clothing, vodka and who knows how many other industries, but now the mogul is turning his attention to the school system. For his next venture, Diddy has announced that he'll be founding a charter school in Harlem.
“Creating this school is a dream come true for me. I want to impact the lives of young people in my community and build future leaders. The first step is offering access to a quality education,” Diddy said in a statement. “Every young person should have the tools they need to succeed. All our children should be able to pursue their dreams. That is something I can impact with this school.”
After a five year search, Combs handpicked the Capital Preparatory Schools as his partner for a new school in Harlem, which will be open in time for the fall 2016 school year. The Capital Preparatory Harlem Charter School will be run by Dr. Steve Perry, the founder of Capital Preparatory Schools.

“I’m inspired by Sean Combs’s belief that educating our young people is the key to opening up a world of opportunity for them,” said Dr. Perry in a statement. “Sean and I have spent many long hours over the last five years talking about education and how best to meet the needs of the young people of Harlem, and I couldn’t be more pleased to continue this journey through the opening of the school.”

Before you get excited at the prospect of a Principal Diddy, the Bad Boy boss won't be the one to actually do that particular job. Danita Jones, an Orlando educator, will serve as principal. The board is run by longtime Combs adviser Derek Ferguson, and will include Dr. Iyanla Vanzant, Reverend Georgiette Morgan Thomas and Dr. Perry.
Capital Prep Harlem is accepting applications for 6th and 7th grade right now. Click here to find out more. The only question left is whether or not Hip-Hop 101 be part of the curriculum?
