We got to give it up to Tyler Perry for bringing the sexy back to Black romantic comedies. Perry released two this year, "Daddy' Little Girls" and "Why Did I Get Married," that were made with small budgets and brought back huge returns.
This holiday season, two more films straight out of the Perry mold come to theaters, Queen Latifah's "Perfect Holiday" and the director Preston Whitmore's "This Christmas" starring Regina King.
Both films deal with Black families sharing love and laughter around the holidays. This battle seems like a toss up, although I'm still mad at the Queen for her last production, "The Cookout" and Whitmore is on my
bad list for his dreadful baskeball blunder, "Crossover."
"Perfect Holiday" stars Gabrielle Union, Morris Chestnut, Charlie Murphy and Katt Williams while"This Christmas" counters with King, Idris Elba, Lauren London and Chris Brown.
This one is too close to call. Which film do you think will be better?
