Oscar-nominated director John Singleton had been tabbed to direct "The A-Team," the latest Hollywood ripoff of a marginally entertaining television series from the '80s, but now he has moved on to Plan B.
It was reported earlier this week in Variety that Singleton, best known for his films "Boyz N The Hood," "Rosewood," "Poetic Justice" and "Baby Boy," had backed out of the movie when Fox Studios said it needed more time to develop the script.
That's never a good sign.
The studio pushed the film back from a June '09 release to June '10. At press time no actors were yet attached but Ice Cube, who rose to movie stardom in Singleton's "Boyz," was in talks to play one of the roles as was Tyrese, who starred in "Baby Boy."
