Even with our sagging economy, it's time to start thinking about stocking stuffers and Christmas gifts. So, if you're a little low on cash and want to give a gift that someone can enjoy for years to come, check out the following DVDs.

"Get Smart," an action comedy based on the '60s TV series of the same name hit streets today. The comic pairing of Steve Carell and Anne Hathaway works well on a lot of different levels, and throw in Dwayne Johnson and it works even better. This is one of those movies you want to watch on the weekend when you have nothing to do and want to see something that won't make you think too hard.

The two-disc set includes some great extras like language lessons fron Carell, a behind-the-scenes guide on what it takes to become an agent and a gag reel.

Coming up next week are a pair of holiday-themed movies. One is good and the other is not so good.

"This Christmas," is a film that the whole family can enjoy on Christmas Eve. It has hotness--Chris Brown, Sharon Leal, Lauren London, Columbus Short, Mekhi Phifer and Idris Elba; award-winning thespians like Loretta Devine, Delroy Lindo and Regina King; and a story that will truly resonate with families of all hues. Not to be missed is Brown's rendition of the Donny Hathaway classic, "This Christmas."

The DVD includes a featurette on the making of the movie and commentary by King, Leal and London.

"Perfect Holiday" isn't that at all. Queen Latifah, the film's executive producer and one of the stars, had an opportunity to create some perfect magic with sizzling stars Morris Chestnut and Gabrielle Union, but the script and plot is so weak that even they couldn't rise above it. And don't even get me started about Terrence Howard. Katt Williams provides some funny moments, as does Charlie Murphy, but this story about a fake santa looking to fulfill a grown woman's wish is just whack.

The best thing on this DVD are the video diaries recorded by the cast.
