"Miracle At St. Anna" failed to woo American audiences to the muliplex, but perhaps Caribbean movie fans will show it a little more love.
The epic war drama directed by Spike Lee and inspired by real-life events will close this year's Bahamas International Film Festival, Dec. 4-11. Executive Director Leslie Vanderpool, "I am so pleased to be welcoming Spike Lee's wonderful film back to Nassau, Bahamas as 'Miracle of St. Anna' was shot on Rose Island. What a perfect story book ending for the 2008 closing night film."
The festival will showcase 80 films from 22 different countries, including "Rain," a film that was shot in the Bahamas by a Bahamian director and starring Nicki Micheaux of "Lincoln Heights."
Other stars with flicks in the fest are: Mariah Carey in "Tennessee," Zoe Saldana in "The Skeptic" and Daniel Craig in "Flashbacks of a Fool." Laurence Fishburne will also be on hand to accept a career achievement award on Dec. 7.
