Angela Davis - Halle Berry or Beyonce?

News broke last week that there is an Angela Davis biopic in the works and Franco-Algerian director Rachid Bouchareb is eyeing Beyonce Knowles for the role.

angela_davis_nesweekcoverNews broke last week that there is an Angela Davis biopic in the works and Franco-Algerian director Rachid Bouchareb is eyeing Beyonce Knowles for the role. However, Oscar-winner Halle Berry recently told Essence Magazine that Angela Davis is her dream role, "I would love to bring the story and the legacy of Angela Davis to the screen. I've been wanting to do it for a long time and I feel like I'm getting closer to the arrival of that happening. That will be my next big, labor of love passion project."\r
Is it possible Beyonce could axe Halle's dream? Beyonce is on a biopic avalanche, playing Etta James, recently signing on to play Eartha Kitt, and her portrayal of Deena Jones in Dreamgirls was basically Diana Ross.\r
Angela Davis is no singer or booty shaker; she is an iconic civil rights leader who was the first black woman and the third woman on the FBI's most wanted list. As talented as Bey is, I just can't envision her playing one of the most controversial political figures in history.\r
On the other hand, I don't necessarily see Berry as Davis, especially since she is so associated with Dorothy DandridgeYou saw my list -- that role has Jada Pinkett Smith or Regina King written all over it.\r
What do you think - Beyonce or Halle? \r
Does Bey have that much power to snatch a role from Halle?\r
I just can't imagine Bey going without all the weave and rocking an afro -- oh, and the afro-weave in Austin Powers doesn't count!\r
