Well, we thought Chris Brown's film career was stable
, but that was before the devastating post-assault picture of Rihanna was released
. Now, it looks like the powers that be in Hollywood are rejecting the "Run It!" pop star. Brown has finished filming Bone Deep,
a high-octane heist drama starring T.I.,
who is heading to prison soon
, and Hayden Christensen
According to hip-hip blog Woooha
: "Unofficial word has it that Chris will be 'erased' from marketing material such as the movie poster, trailer and TV ads to avoid any controversy. The movie has already finished filming in Los Angeles so Chris will still be in the movie but just don’t expect to see much of him in the advertising."
The movie is due out in January 2010, which in Hollywood time isn't too far away considering the months in advance used to promote and create buzz. More than likely the assumption is if Mr. Brown is being banned on radio stations across the country and viewed as the Ike Turner
of 2009 -- people aren't going to pull out nearly $15 to see him on screen.
Before the TMZ picture, there was no imagery associated with the alleged strife between Brown and Rihanna. Now, Chris is known as the man who beat the pop princess, leaving her bloody with welts on her forehead. Yeah, as Joan Crawford
said, Chris might just be "box office poison."
The boy is going to need a lot of PR revamping to save his career. But, hey -- people still support R. Kelly
