Today, we tend to think there are no struggles in interracial relationships.  With the Kardashians dating any male with melanin in their skin and high profile relationships like Heidi Klum and Seal, many people don't seem to flinch.  However, Precious star Paula Patton recently revealed when she started dating R&B crooner Robin Thicke in her teens she had some difficulty.  Patton says:\r
“When I was in high school I found myself totally enamoured [with] this guy,” the 34-year-old Precious actress — who is half white herself — says. “But I didn’t want all my high school friends to know that I’d fallen for a white boy. I didn’t want to be judged by that. So I hid him. I did.”\r
She also missed her high school prom:\r
“That’s the sad part. I missed it because I was afraid. I didn’t choose him because of his colour. I chose him because of his heart and his soul and he makes me laugh. He’s one of the most special human beings I know.”\r
Paula Patton is now 34 years-old so she has clearly worked past these fears, which were almost twenty years ago.  Robin Thicke has openly talked about experiencing prejudice in an interracial relationship.  But, wow, I wonder how Thicke reacted when a teenage Paula said, "Dude, I can't go to my prom with a White boy!"\r
