If you have never see the horror classic
, The Amityville Horror
, it's a must-watch for any fans of films. The 1979 film was a massive hit, received an Oscar nomination and spawned several other installments.
The flick was based on a house in Long Island, New York, where six members of the DeFeo family were killed in their sleep by the eldest brother in 1974 -- this actually happened. A year later, another family moved in and experienced terrifying paranormal experiences. After 28 days, the family abandoned the house. Some reports claims the family made it up to cash-in, while others say it was the truth.
Now the house is on sale for $1.15 million.
$1.15 million? Why would anyone pay $1.15 million to move into house where six people were famously murdered? Allegedly, others have lived in the house since and experienced no hauntings. Supposedly, the high price tag for the house is due to renovations! *hmph*
