Months ago, Kim Kardashian appeared nude in the pages of W, and the world collectively exclaimed, “Dayummm!” as in, “Damn, that Kim Kardashian is naked. And hot. She is hot and naked.”
W magazine hoped something different would happen. They thought we’d see the pictures and exclaim, “Damn! Look at that art.” Or so goes their official explanation now that Kim has seen the pictures, and cried in front of the cameras on her reality show. They told New York magazine that it "was conceived as an artistic collaboration with well-known artist Barbara Kruger, and was a meditation on the influence that reality TV has on contemporary culture."
Seems Kim thought she would be covered in artwork by W in post-production, but instead they thought she was the artwork. And Kim, probably as confused as the rest of us as to how her nipples were a meditation on anything other than bare breasts, said she regrets posing for W and that she was done shedding her clothes (which she's also taken off for Playboy and Harper's Bazaar).
But it's a new day, and now the Kardashian has decided that she loves her "full-on porn" (her description, not ours) pictures. She thinks they are beautiful and that W is "iconic," she told Us magazine, and that therefore, she has no regrets. So as much as it seems to be a woman's prerogative to change her mind, it also seems to be a hot female celebrity's smart business sense to take off her clothes and not complain about it. Here's to seeing who moons us next.
