Rosie O'Donnell Comes to Chris Brown's Defense

Brown has an unlikely ally.

It's safe to assume that Chris Brown wasn’t expecting to find a friend in Rosie O’Donnell. The former daytime TV mogul, soon to be back with a new show on OWN, recently shared her feelings of empathy for the embattled singer. "I don't know why this kid seems to be held to a different standard than anybody else," Rosie said on her Sirius XM radio show. “I felt mildly angry at Robin Roberts. I felt like writing her and going, 'Can you take a look at this again and see if maybe you find—in any way—your responsibility in this?'"

O’Donnell is referring to Brown’s recent tantrum on Good Morning America, where he became enraged after GMA host Robin Roberts asked him questions pertaining to his 2009 assault of ex-girlfriend Rihanna. Rosie went on to say that she was slightly envious of Brown’s decision to throw a chair at his dressing room window, remarking that her stint on ABC’s The View made her want to get a little violent as well. "Part of me wanted to take a chair and throw it through the window at The View ... But, you know, there are no windows down there in that rat-infested cellar," she joked.
