The movie star and singer has a new starring role.
Jennifer Hudson is the new ambassador for Saks Fifth Avenue’s Key to the Cure campaign. Hudson takes on the role as the face of the charity fundraiser, which has raised awareness for cancer cures and women’s issues for 13 years.
"Jennifer is a natural role model who has become a face for positivity," Saks president and chief executive officer Stephen I. Sadove told WWD. "We look forward to hosting Jennifer in NYC at a private cocktail party on Oct. 20 to celebrate the launch.”
As a part of her duties, the Chicago-born singer will wear a T-shirt designed by Elie Tahari at public service announcements in the fall and will also appear in magazines promoting the cause. The heart-graphic shirt will be available online and in Saks stores October 20 to 23, with proceeds benifitting the cause.
