Erykah Badu will join her friend Isis Brantley, also known as “the guru of natural hair care,” to honor the hair we were born with at the first Natural Hair Parade and Festival in Dallas, Texas.

The neo-soul star and Dallas native will show off her own gorgeous tresses as the speaker, sponsor and parade leader for the free event that will take place on September 3, 2011.  Badu and Brantley hope that at least 400 participants will join the route that will run approximately one mile from the Wynnewood Shopping Center (655 W. Illinois Ave.) to Brantley's salon, Naturally Isis, from 8:30-10:30 AM. They are calling for sponsors, schools, churches, community organizations, bands, clubs, parents and children of all ages to join and support.

"We are moving on economic liberty. We’re trying to empower our people so that we can become a part of the $38 million we spend each month on natural hair care and hair care products," says Brantley, who is also celebrating 31 years in the business.
