The model took a break from professional duties to be a spectator on the first day of New York Fashion Week.
Jessica White’s face is splashed on Maybelline ads for New York Fashion Week, but on day one (September 8) of the runway extravaganza the model took a break from posing duties to hit the BCBG Max Azria Spring/Summer 2012 show.
White packed the front row in a purple BCBG maxi dress to view the desirable dresses that featured color block detail, tribal patters, strong collars and cut-out shoulders. “I love BCBG because you can have clothes that aren’t necessarily formfitting, but they’re still sexy like the dress I’m wearing,” she said.
Although she was a spectator at this show, White still remembers being on the other side of the runway. “As crazy as it sounds it is a extremely stressful time, but there’s something intriguing about running around from fitting to fitting or show to show and just watching,” she said. “This is something people don’t understand: it’s a year-long process that leads up to the designer and the model getting into their look and the makeup and actually getting on the runway and seeing what comes from a piece of paper, a drawing, a sketch, actually seeing it come to life. You know, that’s art!”
