“I spent a lot of time reading poetry, that was one of the inspirations behind the line,” said Reese. As fluid as a verse in a poem, each piece in Tracy Reese's Spring 2012 collection floated down the runway. The feminine silhouettes were reminiscent of a time when clothes were romantic yet accessible, and the retro one-piece bathing suits were among the subtle moments that made this collection timeless.

Touches of neon pink and coral popped against a mostly neutral pallet of beige, tan, white and light, airy blues. “It’s spring and that excites me!” said Reese.

The makeup followed a similar theme as models graced the catwalk with neutral, fresh faces and flowing hair. A look Tracy calls "tumble down romance." “I like variety in my models, and a girl who has great personality and can walk.” Reese wanted each model to have her own individual style, with some wearing hats by Jennifer Ouellette (reminiscent of the fascinators worn at the royal wedding) and others carrying whimsical parasols to complement their look.

It was a cheerful showcase filled with emotion, romance and inspiration, and one that made us all look forward to spring.
