With the right styling, there’s nothing boring about a fabulous ponytail. Today’s muse is Gabrielle Union, a diva known for her effortless hair. The actress wore this easy look to the “Evening in Vogue” event during Art Basel in Miami. With the help of a few wavy extensions, Gabby slicked back her hair into a pony with lots of flair.
Our top tip is to add in a little extra hair. Short messy ponytails are just that — messy. You need length, volume and a little texture to pull off a great bed-head pony. Gabby’s loose waves blend well, so make sure that you don’t find yourself wrestling with straight roots and incredibly curly extensions. Mind your texture.
If your goal is to have a super sleek look, consider a genie ponytail with lots of length. Go long and add extensions at the base. Remember to wrap a small section of hair around the base and pin.
A thick bang is also a great way to spruce up your style. Go with a blunt cut for more edge, or wispy ends for a softer appeal.
Remember, scrunchies should only be seen at the gym.
