50 Cent to Release Workout Book

His book "Formula 50: A 6-week Total-Body Transformation Plan" will be out in January 2013.

Rapper 50 Cent will soon use his passion for health and fitness to teach the rest of us how to get in shape, too. He'll be releasing a workout book titled Formula 50: A 6-week Total-Body Transformation Plan through Avery Books in January 2013. Jeff O'Connell, editor-in-chief of Bodybuilding.com, will be co-writing the book alongside 50 Cent.
“I am thrilled to have Curtis ‘50 Cent’ Jackson join the Avery list. We see a very broad market for this book that includes fitness enthusiasts, fans and anyone looking to transform their body and reach their full physical potential," says William Shinker, president and publisher at Avery.
The book will present a six-week mind and body workout regimen that includes metabolic resistance training to merge weight training with cardio. It will also contain tips for better nutrition, willpower and motivation to stick through the program that's being touted as a "transformation plan that can work for everyone."
"I am delighted to work with the Penguin Group USA again. I had a strong desire to write this book because it is very important to me to help people make positive changes and take charge of their overall health. Formula 50 is a radical six week mind-body transformation plan geared to help readers develop mental toughness to achieve optimum results while offering a nutrition component," says 50 Cent.
This isn't 50's first foray into the health industry or the publishing world. He's teamed up with Vitamin Water, has signed deals to create vitamin supplements, and in September released Street King energy drinks. His 2005 memoir From Pieces to Weight: Once Upon a Time in Southside Queens and 2009's advice book The 50th Law both appeared on New York Times bestsellers lists.
