The 25-year-old R&B singer says "humor makes things a lot easier."
Sexy R&B crooner Miguel recently went on a First Date with MTV in New York City's Gyu-Kaku and talked about the qualities his ideal woman would have along with his impressive fashion sense. The 25-year-old showed up at the Japanese BBQ restaurant wearing jade trousers, a rust-colored coat and suspenders. Not too shabby, huh?
Style is no foreign language to the "All I Want Is You" singer. In fact, he says following fashion is one of his top interests outside of making music. His other hobbies are just as creative. In fact, he names '80s artist Jean-Michel Basquiat as a great influence and says he finds photographer David LaChapelle's work compelling. He also hopes to inspire others the way these two have pushed him, adding, "I really hope to come to a place where I've achieved some kind of trust with my audience. The kind of trust that allows me some kind of influence ... influence to effect some kind of social change."
But what's a First Date without chatting about the most important quality he's looking for in a partner?
"I think that life should be lived on the light side; there's enough bulls--t that we deal with. Having a sense of humor makes things a lot easier," he said.
