Sherri Shepherd is serious about her upcoming gig on season 14 of Dancing With the Stars. Not only has she been filming her preparation for the show, but she's also making sure her body will be in top condition to take on her competitors. She's enlisted the help of celebrity trainer Kira Stokes, nixing soda, and reducing her red meat consumption, and a recent trip to the doctor proved that all her efforts are paying off.
"So excited…went to cardiologist…took blood test-last year my cholesterol was 225 NOW 173. Bad Triglycerides 137 NOW 95. A1C 5.8 NOW 5.2," she wrote on Twitter.
It's great that Shepherd is so motivated about her health and that she's being proactive about lessening her risk for coronary heart disease and diabetes, especially since the latter runs in her family.
"Diabetes is a silent killer. I lost my mom who was 42 years old due to diabetes. She didn't take care of herself & left devastated girls," Shepherd tweeted. "I refuse 2have my son laying in his bed crying b/c he misses his mom who's in "heaven". If I have to drink water 4 the rest of my life YES."
Season 14 of Dancing With the Stars premieres March 19.
