Groupon lovers take note: pretty soon there will be a coupon site that focuses solely on beauty deals for African-American women. Former Essence beauty editor Tia Williams and her sisters, Devon and Lauren, are launching a daily deal site that will tip Black women off to great salon and beauty deals in their city. The Fly Cut will launch in New York City in April before expanding to Washington, D.C. and other parts of the country later on this year.
It will be the first website that will offer discounts to hair salons specializing in ethnic hair, news, trends, product reviews and inside information about each salon along with its services, top stylists and best treatments. The Fly Cut's first deal will be vouchers for the new Miss Jessie's Curl Bar in SoHo.
