Halle Berry Shares Her Beauty Tips and Summer Style

She's been gravitating towards saris, flow-y dresses and ethnic prints.

When it comes to her makeup routine, Halle Berry likes to keep things simple. The actress/mom/bride-to-be who nabbed the top spot in People's Most Beautiful Woman in the World list in 2003, talked with Stylelist about her quick makeup tips, short haircut and what she's loving this summer.
"Face powder, as I’m a shiny mess, and a lip. I have a bad habit of chewing my lips and without something on there, I just chew them off," she says. "I've been wearing Just Bitten Kissable in Honey. It's the perfect, creamy nude."
Berry also suggests finding your right shade of foundation that's light and oil-free as great makeup looks start with a good base. When it comes to hair, Berry prefers her iconic pixie cut, a move she made when she was just starting her acting career to set herself apart from the other long-haired actresses.
"I am my best self when I have super-short hair. That’s when I feel most like me and most confident," she says. "Growing up as a Black woman, I felt that if I didn’t have long hair, I wasn’t going to be beautiful. I always thought that. Cutting my hair was freeing. Someone saying you’re beautiful and the fact that you have no hair makes you even more beautiful said to me it’s not about my hair. It’s about something else we emanate. I’ve lived with that my whole life."
Which is why she hopes her daughter, Nahla, whose dad is French-Canadian while Berry is half white and half Black, learns to define herself on her own terms and “feel good about who she is, where she comes from, embrace her little curly hair and everything about her."
Berry is also not afraid to change up her looks and lately has been sporting a curly bob, easy breezy style and wearing lots of flip-flops.
"Since I have this curly hair and am doing a movie, it’s changed my style," she says. "I’ve been wearing a lot of caftans and saris at home and gravitating towards more ethnic prints, colors and flow-y dresses."
"Plus, living in California, it’s always sunny and warm," she adds. "I probably own over 100 flip-flops. I get them sent to me. I don’t buy them."
