Now we can see what interesting things our First Lady would pin on her virtual inspiration boards. Michelle Obama has just joined social networking site Pinterest and started sharing personal family photos. The First Lady currently has more than 20,000 followers and three boards named "Around the White House," "Great memories," and "Father's Day." The latter includes photos of President Barack Obama with his family playing mini golf, attending games and hanging with his daughters Sasha, 11, and Malia, 13.
While the account is run by the Obama 2012 campaign staff, pins with captions that sign off with "-mo" indicate that the FLOTUS added them herself. There was also a virtual Father's Day card that asks followers to sign the card to wish Obama a happy one.
Photos pinned under "Great memories" include doing push-ups on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, a tender moment she and the president shared during the 2009 inauguration and the Obamas' wedding day on October 3, 1992.
In the pin board "Around the White House," followers will find pictures of her tug-of-war competition with Late Night show host Jimmy Fallon, her workout with the cast of The Biggest Loser, as well as the White House garden with the caption, "The veggies taste even better when you grow them yourself. -mo"
Speaking of which, FLOTUS has been making the rounds to promote her book American Grown: The Story of the White House Kitchen Garden and Gardens Across America and said her daughters, who were first drawn in by the photography, have given their mom's first gardening book their approval.
"They couldn't put it down and they started looking through and then they started actually reading it," she said. "Eventually, I got, actually, a thumbs-up."
