Nike's New LeBron Sneakers Won't Be Released at Midnight

The brand is trying to avoid campouts and riots.

Sneaker fiends hoping to be one of the first to grab Nike's new LeBron X sneakers when they drop this fall will have to wait a little longer than usual. Instead of releasing them at midnight, the brand has told retailers to hold off on the launch until 8 a.m. to keep customers from camping out in front of stores for days and to prevent possible riots.
When the LeBron Galaxy 9 was released in February, violent fights and stampedes broke out, leading one Foot Locker in Orlando, Florida, to call riot police and cancel the release altogether. In addition, retailers won't be allowed to post photos or descriptions of the new shoes until after they've launched.
Will you be getting your hands on a pair of the $315 LeBron X sneakers when it's released this fall?
