She spilled the beans last month via Twitter and then immediately deleted it, leaving #RihannaNavy perplexed as to whether or not she was Vogue's November cover girl. Well, here it is. We’ve got confirmation, spotted the cover, and have a few excerpts from the feature.
The “Diamonds” superstar Instagramed a photo of the cover on Saturday, writing: “Mama I made it! Here’s #2.”
This is the second Vogue U.S. appearance for Rihanna, who first covered the magazine in April 2011, impersonating a seductive Little Mermaid in a beaded sheer number with her long siren-red locks. For next month’s issue, she dons a red strapless dress and her cute pixie cut while kneeling in a wheat field. Don't worry, inside, the accompanying fashion spread is a bit more electric.
The issue comes right on time with the pop star's upcoming release of her new album, Unapologetic, out November 19.
Read what Rih has to say about the Chris Brown incident for the trillionth time.
On the public's infatuation with the assault scandal:
“To the world, I feel like there’s no closure. There’s some obsession that’s continued even throughout when we weren’t friends or couldn’t be friends at all… The world hasn’t let go. They haven’t seen any progress in our friendship, because they don’t see anything, really, besides the song.”
From the outside looking in:
“So now it’s a bit of a fascination, I guess. I don’t know if people will stop soon, but I feel like as soon as they have closure to it, they will. They’re not on the inside. They can’t see what I see, unless they’re sitting in my point of view. I guess I’ll learn to accept that.”
On the “Birthday Cake” Rih-mix:
“I didn’t think it could be anything detrimental to my career. I was on a tour bus ride between two cities, listening to my album, thinking, 'Oooh, maybe I should make this into a duet.' And I started coming up with a bunch of people, and his name crossed my mind. I thought we haven’t made a song in so long together....it could be a little shocking.”
