Solange Knowles looks gorgeous and carefree as she graces the cover of The Edit's Vacation Issue where she sports a flowy J. Crew dress with sandals by Bottega Veneta and a large glimmering necklace by Hervé Van der Straeten. Inside, the fashion spread has the same summery vibe with Knowles posing in kaftans, maxi skirts and light dresses. In her cover story, the singer talks about her big sister Beyoncé, how she defines style and loving her career.
"I'm having the time of my life. I have one of the best jobs in the world, and to be able to [perform] for an hour a day and make a career out of it, I'm incredibly humbled by it," she says.
And don't think for a moment that she's jealous of her sister's success. In fact, she's grateful to have grown up with one of the world's hottest stars and looks forward to being a role model for her son.
"I don't think any part of myself as an artist has ever had a moment of…intentional execution. It's all just been an evolution," she says. "I've been able to watch such an incredible performer as my sister close-up. It's molded me. And now I'm letting my son watch me."
She also shared her thoughts on style and why she puts so much effort into her looks.
"Style in anything is very important. It's how we express our individuality, who we are and what we believe in. It's all a reflection of who I am."
