The drag supermodel is back with his signature burgundy red lip color.
RuPaul is back with his fabulous self as a spokesperson for the MAC VIVA Glam campaign. The original Glam queenl promoted the beauty brand's lip products back in 1994 to help raise money for the MAC AIDS fund and now returns with her signature burgundy red lipstick from his first campaign along with a new matching Lipglass.
"My most memorable experience of wearing the original VIVA Glam lipstick is watching the local news in New York after we debuted it and it was actually my first appearance as the VIVA Glam spokesperson and I realized how good I looked in it!" the drag supermodel says in his promotional video.
Along with chatting about what it's like to be back and why it's important for young generations to learn about and give back to the cause, RuPaul explained the kind of vibrant person it takes to hold the reigns at VIVA Glam.
"You have to be outrageous, you have to have a certain cachet that says I'm willing to do whatever it takes to get the message out there and in this case the message is a very important message. I think all the VIVA Glam spokespeople have been flamboyant and colorful and fearless and fierce. It really exemplifies what the product is."
Past VIVA Glam celebs have included Missy Elliott, Christina Aguilera, Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj and Ricky Martin and while all have done a great job raising awareness for HIV/AIDS, we're excited to have the one who started it all—and RuPaul is, too.
"It feels so great being back at MAC as the original VIVA Glam girl," RuPaul says. "It's like yesterday that happened. It was such a turning point in my life and it was the real moment when I thought, 'I've made it! I'm a beauty queen, mama!'"
