The singer channels Donatella Versace in ad for Spring/Summer 2014 campaign.
The rumor had been swirling for weeks now, but now we have the official confirmation: Lady Gaga is the newest face of Versace. The singer's Spring/Summer 2014 campaign ad was released Saturday via the brand's Twitter account and she looks absolutely polished. Not only does she channel Donatella Versace's signature look with long and straight blonde hair and minimal makeup, but her body was made for the lilac form-fitting dress she's wearing.
Versace and Mother Monster go way back as the brand was behind her outfit for the "Edge of Glory" video in 2011 as well as her costumes for the 2012 Born This Way concert tour. She also wore three Versace looks during her recent appearance on Saturday Night Live, including her silver fringed dress for the opening sequence. In addition, Lady Gaga created a song titled "Donatella" for her latest album, ARTPOP, to pay homage to the woman behind the luxury fashion house.
"I am honored that my friend Lady Gaga is the face of our new Versace campaign. I wanted to capture her true beauty and spirit in images that are elegant and alluring. She is like family to me, the embodiment of the Versace DNA," Donatella said.
