The model-actress' collection is inspired by her love for the outdoors.
Joy Bryant and her husband David Pope have a launched a new clothing line, Basic Terrain, based off of the model-actress' love for the outdoors. Instead of the glam designs that Bryant often wears, the collection will be filled with slightly more rugged pieces.
"Our idol brands are Patagonia, Capital and Best Made Co. If you took those three and put them in a blender, that's Basic Terrain," Bryant told WWD.
The line's spring offerings will have feminine offerings while the fall will bring in more sportswear styles in fleece, leather, and wool. One look we're digging is a wrap-front cotton pants that will be available in a wide array of colors for Basic Terrain's pre-fall capsule collection. Bryant is still working on gathering attention for the line and hopes that her name will pull in interest.
"It's great if because of my exposure and my work, that brings attention to it, because we are making things and we want people to buy them," Bryant said. "But I never looked at this like a celebrity line. I think the product speaks for itself."
