The singer-actress gets creative when dressing her new body.
Last week we mentioned Jill Scott's cover for Essence's September issue and how amazing she looks in her photo shoot. Now the publication has released a few more tidbits gleaned from their interview, including her peace-making philosophy and how she's dressing her new figure with a little DIY handiwork.
The singer has lost 63 pounds in an outstanding weight-loss journey. Still, her new body comes with its own challenges as she said she's a size "12/14 downstairs; 16/18 up top" and will often buy a design she likes in two sizes so she can mix and match a perfect ensemble that fits her shape.
"Or I'll take something that's a bit too small and just make it into something else," she said.
She also revealed that this love for fashion creations has inspired her to develop her own clothing line.
As for coming clean about past transgressions, Scott has taken to bringing more closure into her life by reaching out to old friends and boyfriends and clearing the air.
"[I wasn't always] an angel. If I hurt you, then I'm really sorry. I hope you can forgive me, and I hope you're happy," Scott said.
