Model Ataui Deng had been missing for two weeks.
UPDATE: Ataui Deng has been found in a New York City hospital, the Daily Mail reports. The 22-year-old model, whose aunt is supermodel Alek Wek, is alive, but no further details about her condition are available.
Deng's friends in fashion as well as celebrities like Rihanna (Deng modeled for the singer's River Island collection) had been working hard to find the Sudanese beauty. "If any one has any information on this young lady’s whereabouts, please call the NYPD or email firstname.lastname@example.org," RiRi tweeted.
Thankfully, Deng is safe and alive.
Sudanese model Ataui Deng, the niece of supermodel Alek Wek, has been missing for the past 10 days, the Black Girl Project reports. Deng, who resides in New York City, was last seen leaving a nightclub in the city's Midtown district on Aug. 6, according to the NYPD.
At 5'10", Deng bears a resemblance to her striking aunt. She began her modelling career in 2008 and has walked the runway for Zac Posen, Christian Siriano and a number of other A-list designers.
Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
Our prayers are with Deng's family for her safe return.
