Kim Kardashian is back on newsstands, but this time she’s decidedly more covered up. In the January 2015 issue of Elle UK, for which she has three special covers, the reality TV starlet opened up about motherhood and the lifestyle changes that she’s made ever since welcoming daughter North West into the world.

“Since North, I wear less makeup,” she said. “I used to wear a lot and I think that’s why I looked like I had work done. I just wanted to be skin to skin with her, no makeup in the way. Kanye loves me more natural. I think all men like less makeup on women. I think it’s sexier.”

We have to agree that she looks great with a fresher face and that even her style game has improved since entering marriage and motherhood. Having been open about her pregnancy weight gain struggles in the past, she told the magazine that she wondered if it was a humbling lesson from above.

“I [would] think God was doing this for a reason. He was saying: ‘Kim, you think you’re so hot, but look what I can do to you.’ My body just went crazy. After five months I swore I’d never get pregnant again. I got so huge and it felt like someone had taken over my body.”

She also revealed that she wasn’t born with the fierce confidence she exudes today, saying that having a body that developed really early caused a lot of body image issues. Kardashian recalled receiving a letter from her father, Robert Kardashian Sr., when she was 13 years old that reminded her to understand her self-worth regardless of the attention she would someday begin receiving from men.

"It’s taken me a long time to be happy with my body and for my confidence to grow to what it is today," she admitted. "I grew up when the body to have was the tall, slim, supermodel one, like Cindy Crawford’s. No one looked like me. It’s good to break the mold and recreate one.”

She continued, "I’m an Armenian girl, I have shape, and it turned out people liked that. That makes me feel good about myself and about other women for being so supportive. I am a confident woman, but I didn’t just arrive confident – it has built over the years and that is a big part of who I am now."
