Former ANTM Contestant Sues Tyra Banks for $3 Million

Angelea Preston claims she was disqualified for her escort past.

A former America’s Next Top Model contestant is suing the show and host Tyra Banks because they allegedly disqualified her after they found that she used to be an escort. Angelea Preston claims she won the televised competition’s cycle 17, but the title was then given to Lisa D’Amato. The winner of the reality show lands a $100,000 contract with CoverGirl and a fashion spread in Vogue Italia.

Preston is now seeking $3 million for damages and not only claims there was a breach of contract, but that the contestants didn’t receive meals or rest breaks and that the wrongful disqualification has caused her emotional distress. While she did work as an escort in her past, Preston says that she didn’t break any rules because she was in that line of work before participating in
ANTM. The lawsuit was filed Wednesday in Los Angeles Superior Court.

Banks has yet to comment on the claim.
