Iggy Azalea Opens Up About Plastic Surgery
Iggy Azalea is finally coming clean about her experience with plastic surgery. In the September issue of Seventeen magazine, the Australian rapper said she’s not denying that she’s had work done to her body because “denying it is lame.”
"I don't think you should be ashamed if you made a change to yourself, which is why I've spoken about the changes I've made, like with my breasts."
Getting a breast augmentation isn’t the only thing she’s had done. Azalea also admitted to getting a nose job. We’re not sure if it’s such a great idea to be sharing this with the magazine’s young readers who are still getting comfortable with their developing bodies, but perhaps the honesty is helpful. Azalea stressed the importance of doing homework before going under the knife and making sure that it's being done for the right reasons.
"Your perception of yourself can change a lot over time," she said, "so I think it's important to wait and make sure it's the right choice."
For the 25-year-old, the decision to undergo plastic surgery didn’t come without some emotional hurdles and self-acceptance.
"Plastic surgery is an emotional journey,” she said. "It's no easy feat to live with your flaws and accept yourself — and it's no easy feat to change yourself. Either way you look at it, it's a tough journey. There are things that I didn't like about myself that I changed through surgery. There are other things I dislike but I've learned to accept."
"It's important to remember you can't change everything," Azalea added. "You can never be perfect."
