Gina Rodriguez Literally Gave a Fan the Clothes Off Her Back

Jane the Virgin star made one young lady’s day.

Jane the Virgin star Gina Rodriguez is gaining some major good karma points. The actress is paying it forward in a way that just makes us melt a little: she’s offering to let a young fan borrow a gown from her own closet. Yep, you read that right.

A fan named Jessica Casanova contacted Rodriguez via Twitter and shared that she wanted to wear the dress the 31-year-old actress wore to this year’s Golden Globes, a navy off-the-shoulder look by Zac Posen, to her high school prom.
Rodriguez kept it 100 and said the Posen look was on loan from the designer, but offered up something even better. “Where do you live? I only own my first globes dress the one from last year...maybe we can make this happen,” Rodriguez replied in a message. The dress Casanova may receive is equally stunning, a strapless black Badgley Mischka number. You’ll remember she donned it at the 2015 ceremony, where she took home the statuette for Best Actress in a Comedy Series.

First off, how awesome is it that this is happening? And secondly, we love how rather than telling the young lady a flat-out no, she offered to reach into her own closet to make a stranger’s day. It appears the two swapped information on the social media website, much to the glee of Rodriguez’s adoring fans — us included!
