Erykah Badu never fails to keep us guessing when it comes to her red carpet style. In fact, she has built her career on being a visionary in all things creative, and this will likely come in handy as she prepares for her next gig as wardrobe stylist to one of fashion’s most buzzed-about rising stars.

Badu will serve as stylist for Pyer Moss’s Fall 2016 collection during New York Fashion Week. The brand’s designer, Kerby Jean-Raymond, is known for integrating social activism into his pieces. Last season he debuted a short film about racism and police brutality during his runway show and the clothes themselves were referential to the Black Lives Matter movement.
Given Badu’s political outspokenness, it seems like a perfect fit. We’re certainly interested to see how she puts together the runway looks for the forthcoming show. While this may just be a one-off from her careers in music and as a certified doula, one thing is for sure: Whatever she comes up with will certainly give folks something to talk about.
