Trapeze Dress - What’s Out: These tent-like silhouettes are now considered a big no-no. Fitted at the bust and flaring out in an A-line cut. Sorry ladies, last year may have marked the death of the baby-doll shape. And since the style is so youthful, it might be harder to pull off a second time around.

What’s In: Long, flowy dresses reminiscent of 60’s and 70’s hippie chick, shift dresses, a hint of 80’s retro and long evening dresses.

Oversize Bag - What’s Out: Forget the traditional carry-all for spring. Bags like that served as a good punctuation, but they were too heavy and hard to walk with. Less is more this season.

What’s In: It’s the return of the everyday purse for the everyday lady. Style guru, Tim Gunn, suggests shopping for smaller, tailored handbags in color and metallics. The supersized clutch is an exception. Fendi has new satchel-size clutches. Hot!

Puffy Coat - What’s Out: Gone are the days of adding extra bulk to your bod. The puffy jacket adds too much volume.

What’s In: Instead of a puffy coat, slip into a fitted trench coat. And while the khaki ones are classic, don't be afraid to go bold with a color or patent.

Daytime Flashy - What’s Out: Doing too much. Oversized sunglasses and flashy daytime pieces are so distinctly tied to 2007, that it might be best to shelve them for now.

What’s In: While the far out looks may vanish this year, hang onto accessories that have some shine, since the looks are likely to come back again. Save the dramatic fabrics for the club.

As for shades, go smaller and try a pair of wood frames.

Cheetah Print - What’s Out: Something else to chuck? Cheetah print! It’s been overdone on and off the red carpet. Blame Hollywood for its demise.

What’s In: Spring 2008 is all about fun florals and bold colors.
